Experiencing Professional Golf Up Close
Some of our Year 5 children from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School enjoyed an absolutely incredible day at The Renaissance Club, experiencing the excitement of the Genesis Scottish Open.
Thanks to Pobble and the DP World Tour, the children were given a fascinating behind-the-scenes insight into the world of professional golf and the organisation of a major sporting event.
Exploring the Course and Meeting the Players
Throughout the day, the children explored the course, visited areas around the 1st tee and driving range, and stepped inside the impressive hospitality suites. They gained a first-hand understanding of everything that goes into hosting a world-class golf tournament.
There was plenty of excitement when the professional golfers appeared too. Some children were lucky enough to take selfies with the players, while many returned home with autographs and huge smiles on their faces.
Combining Sport and Creativity
As part of the visit, the pupils also took part in a fantastic writing workshop, bringing together sport, creativity and learning in a truly memorable setting.
The experience provided a wonderful opportunity to inspire a love of both sport and literacy while creating lasting memories for all involved.
A Day to Remember
The trip was filled with new experiences, inspiration and excitement, making it a day the children are sure to remember for years to come.
A huge thank you to Pobble, the DP World Tour and everyone at the Genesis Scottish Open for making our children feel so welcome and providing such a fantastic opportunity.
