Our Year 5 and 6 children recently enjoyed taking part in an exciting creative project led by Bloom in Art as part of the SPARKS initiative.

Working alongside visiting artists, the children helped to create a collective installation that will be featured at the Seaton Carew Fireworks Display on 1st November 2026. Inspired by contemporary basket weaving, the project involved designing and making beautiful hand-held lantern sculptures using natural materials, including willow, seagrasses and found objects.

The children embraced the opportunity to explore new artistic techniques, demonstrating creativity, imagination and excellent teamwork throughout the project. The finished lanterns are truly stunning, and we are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

If you are attending the Seaton Carew Fireworks Display, be sure to look out for our wonderful lanterns, which will be on display near the Clock Tower. We are delighted that our pupils' artwork will form part of this special community event and look forward to seeing their creations showcased for all to enjoy.

Well done to all of our Year 5 and 6 artists for their fantastic work!
